Our Foundational Pillars
These are the Foundational Pillars that drive our strategic planning around the work that Suburban Balance champions. As we prepare for our 15th Year Anniversary next year, we will continue the journey toward systemic change.

Equity Forum
Over the past several years, Suburban Balance’s Equity & Social Advocacy Division has hosted groundbreaking Equity Forums to raise awareness around educational inequities and community leadership.
These forums bring together parents, educators, and advocates to mobilize, organize, and strategize meaningful change in our schools and communities.
Equity in Action
Through forums, task forces, candidate events, and civic engagement initiatives, Suburban Balance actively advances equity and representation across our communities.
Voter Education & School Board Candidate Forums
Empowering our communities through voter education and civic engagement is a critical part of advancing educational equity. Suburban Balance helps bridge the gap between residents and local leadership by creating opportunities for meaningful dialogue, informed decision-making, and increased voter participation.
Why Voter Engagement Matters
Suburban Balance believes informed voters create stronger communities. Through school board candidate forums and voter education initiatives, we connect community members with candidates, encourage civic participation, and promote greater understanding of the issues impacting local schools and families.
School board elections are among the most consequential local elections because school board members make decisions that directly affect educational opportunities, student outcomes, and equity initiatives. Understanding candidate platforms helps voters make informed decisions that align with the needs and values of their communities.
Voting is a fundamental right, and meaningful change begins when communities actively participate in the democratic process.

Our Advocacy Framework
Our work is grounded in a framework that empowers individuals, strengthens community voice, and mobilizes action toward equitable outcomes.
We believe advocacy begins with awareness, grows through collaboration, and leads to meaningful change. Through education, organization, and civic participation, we work to create lasting impact in our schools and communities.
